Barack ObamaState political arm ratifies endorsement of Barack Obama!

Our state political organization (a 501(c)4) has ratified Planned Parenthood Action Fund's recommendation to endorse Barack Obama for President of the United States.

While serving in the Illinois Senate, Obama had a 100% pro-family planning voting record. He stood up for mandating contraceptive coverage in health insurance, in ensuring that survivors of sexual assault had access to emergency contraception when they were at the hospital, and he supported comprehensive sex education legislation.

John McCainMcCain anything but a "maverick" on reproductive health

While John McCain has positioned himself as a "maverick" on many issues, his record on women's health falls right in line with the extreme right wing.

McCain has not only vocally denounced Roe v. Wade, but he has consistently voted against preventative health measures. While in office, John McCain has opposed measures to prevent teen pregnancy, he opposed a measure requiring health care plans to cover birth control, and he says he would have supported the South Dakota abortion ban.
